Best Wireless Xbox Controller for Series X and PC?

Hey everyone,

Lately, I’ve been on a bit of a mission trying to find the perfect Xbox controller that works great on both Series X and PC. My old controller started drifting badly (you know that annoying thumbstick drift that ruins every match), and after a few frustrating weeks, I finally decided it’s time to upgrade.

Now, I’m not the type who just picks something randomly — I did a deep dive into this. I read countless reviews from IGN, Wired, TechRadar, and Lifewire, plus I spent way too many late nights scrolling through Reddit and other gaming forums. The opinions out there are super mixed. Some people swear by one model, others complain about the exact same thing. But after all that digging, two names kept popping up again and again:

  1. BETMI Wireless Controller for Xbox (Compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S & PC)
  2. Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Gaming Controller – White (Series X|S)

Both have great reviews, and honestly, choosing between them isn’t easy. But after comparing everything, here’s what I found out.

🕹️ BETMI Wireless Controller – Budget-Friendly and Reliable

Let’s start with the BETMI Wireless Controller, which you can find easily on Amazon. The first thing that stands out is the price. It’s a solid affordable alternative to the official Xbox controllers, making it perfect for gamers who don’t want to spend a fortune but still want good quality.

It supports Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PCs, which means you can just pair it up and start playing across platforms without worrying about compatibility. The wireless connection feels stable — users report minimal lag and solid range (around 30 feet). That’s more than enough for couch gaming setups.

Design-wise, BETMI doesn’t look cheap. It follows a familiar Xbox-style layout with smooth curves, decent grip texture, and responsive triggers. The dual vibration motors give satisfying feedback, especially during racing or shooting games. One small plus point I noticed in reviews: the battery life is surprisingly long for the price. You can easily get 8–10 hours of play on a full charge, and it uses rechargeable batteries, which is nice.

Now, of course, it’s not perfect. A few users mentioned the D-pad feels a bit stiff, and over time, the buttons might lose that fresh “clicky” feel. Also, while the vibration is decent, it’s not as fine-tuned as the Elite controller. But for under half the price of the premium ones, BETMI delivers way more than expected.

If you’re someone who just wants a comfortable, functional, and budget-friendly controller that won’t break the bank — this is a smart pick.

🎮 Xbox Elite Series 2 Core – Premium Build, Precision Performance

On the other hand, we have the Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller the one everyone talks about when it comes to premium feel and performance. From the moment you hold it, you can tell it’s a top-tier piece of hardware.

This controller is designed for serious gamers who care about every detail responsiveness, grip, and customization. It’s compatible with Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, and it connects via both Bluetooth and USB-C for low-latency performance.

The build quality is where it really shines. It has a soft-touch finish, adjustable-tension thumbsticks, and shorter hair-trigger locks (great for FPS games). The paddles on the back can be mapped to any button you want, which gives a competitive edge — especially in shooters where quick reactions matter.

Battery life? Insane. You get up to 40 hours of gameplay per charge, which easily lasts several sessions before you even think about recharging. Plus, it comes with a charging dock, which feels like a small luxury but one you quickly get used to.

The only downside, of course, is the price. The Elite Series 2 Core is quite expensive compared to the BETMI. And while it feels like a pro controller, not everyone needs that level of customization. For casual gaming or single-player titles, you might not use half the advanced features.

But if you’re someone who spends hours on competitive games, or just loves that high-end, perfectly balanced controller feel — the Elite Series 2 Core is easily one of the best on the market.

⚖️ Final Thoughts – Which One Should You Buy?

If you’re on a budget and want a solid, no-fuss controller that works well on both Series X and PC, BETMI is a great choice. It gives you comfort, reliability, and decent performance without costing a lot. It’s perfect for casual to mid-level gamers who just want to jump into their favorite titles without worrying about drift or lag.

However, if you want premium control, long-lasting battery, and pro-level customization, Xbox Elite Series 2 Core easily takes the crown. It’s pricey, yes, but you’re paying for durability, performance, and comfort that truly stands out.

In the end, it depends on how serious you are about your gaming. For me, I’m leaning towards the Elite Series 2 — mainly because I play long sessions and love the extra precision. But if you’re not ready to spend that much, BETMI still gives great bang for the buck.
